Christmas Present Beauty Ideas!

So, Crimble is fast approaching (groan for the purse, woo hoo for shiny lights!) Let's have a look at some of the gift sets and palettes on offer this year!

First up, Lancômes "Juicy Tubes Miniature Set". These are great for the make up bag and for those make-up artists who want a small selection (They work quite nice for television work!) They're comfortable on the lips and last a few hours.

Lancôme Juicy Tubes Miniature Set contains:
- Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Fraise 7ml
- Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Pamplemousse 7ml
- Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Lychee 7ml
- Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Marshmallow Electro 7ml

Priced at £20.00 avaliable at Lancôme counters.

Next up, we have Benefit, who have many offerings this year in the way of Christmas sets (a part of me feels they've spent a bit too much time on the packaging though!) but the "Benefit Primping with the Stars All-Time Greatest "Fake-Its" Kit" caught my eye!

Includes:
- Benefit They're Real! Beyond Mascara 3.0g
- Benefit Stay Don't Stray Stay-Put Primer for Concealers & Eyeshadows 2.5ml
- Benefit Benetint Rose-Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain 4.0ml
- Benefit Some Kind-a Gorgeous the Foundation Faker in Medium - 3.5g
- Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Pearl for Face 7.5ml
- Benefit The POREfessional PRO Balm Primer 7.5ml

I feel it's a nice kit for trying some of Benefits well known products, priced at £26.50 and available at Benefit counters.

Philosophy is the perfect brand for those that like multi-tasking products in the bathroom, with a lil' bit of luxury, this "Homemade Honey Buns Set" will be just as sweet as they are (well, maybe!)

What "they" say - "The set includes a 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath and a luxurious body lotion infused with a sweet honey scent. The moisturizing, multitasking shower gel formula provides a rich, foaming lather to gently cleanse and condition, leaving skin and hair feeling soft. layer with body lotion for silky soft and lightly scented skin."

This set is priced at £16.20 and available at John Lewis

This next gift is on my personal wish list for Santa this year and it's from Butter London.

Sorry, but nail lovers - this is sexual right?

Glamrock 6 Piece Mini Nail Lacquer Set Contains: All Hail the Queen, Pillar Box Red, Slapper, Trout Pout, West End Wonderland and new shade, Buckie. £29.00 and available here!

Also on my wishlist, NARS Voyeur Larger than Life Long-wear eyeliner gift set.

Fiveshades of Larger Than Life® Long-Wear Eyeliner in convenient travel sizes, featuring three best-sellers and two new shades created exclusively for the collection. The best eyeliners ever and a bargain price! £30.00 at House of Fraser.

I feel Clinque are always great for those stuck in a skin-care rut. Go along to their website to see gifts and sets from around £20 for a full skin-care set - perfect for gifts or simply trying products out!

Boots have a 3 for 2 Mix and Match promotion for some of their Christmas gifts, so if you're looking at saving a few pennies it's worth a gander - don't forget those Boots advantage points! You might get enough for a treat for yourself in the new year!

Superdrug have a similar deal across cosmetics and upto 50% off on selected Christmas gifts.

I hope this post will help those "Want do you want for Christmas?" "Errrrrr...." moments!

Weird and Wonderful?

Just a wee note to say the beginnings of a portfolio are now up!

I will be updating this on a regular basis from now on. I'm working on a special project for the end up the month and I'm incredibly excited about it! It involves a lot of planning, make up, wig work and photographers and it's all based around the amazing work of Tim Walker.

I'll give you two photos of my inspiration..

Intrigued?

Wish me luck!

Tag: The Sunshine Award!

I've been very kindly nominated for the Sunshine Award by the uber lovely Samantha! Check out her blog and answers here!

With most blog tags, there always comes a set of rules, for this particular one, you have to:
  • Include the Sunshine award logo in this post and in your blog.
  • Mention and link the person who nominated you
  • Write 11 facts about yourself.
  • Answer the 11 questions that have been set by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers.
  • Write a new set of 11 questions for them to answer.
So, here's 11 facts about me!:
  • I'm much more into handbags than shoes (Thanks to my man feet)
  • I don't tend to watch TV, if I do it's usually through lovefilm/netflix/iplayer
  • I've been compared to Miranda Hart - I don't know if this is good or not!
  • I'm an Android girl!
  • Before I started my career in make-up, I did my national diploma in animal management and worked on a farm for two years
  • I have to plan EVERYTHING! Otherwise it never gets done
  • I have an obsession with Filofaxes
  • I would love a Chanel handbag
  • I'd love to be tattooed by Kat Von D
  • I'm a messy worker but to me everything is in a particular place and I know where everything is
  • Roses are my favorite flower. I didn't really want them to be as it just seems so obvious but I think they're truly beautiful.

The questions I've been asked:

1. What is your worst habit? Probably texting when I'm asleep. Oh yes, I do that! Only once in a blue moon but I've had full blown conversations via text I can't remember the next day!
2. Who knows about your blog? Not many people to be honest. The make up blogging world can be a weird one if you're not involved with it. It is now on my business cards so I suppose we'll "test the waters!"
3. If you could spend a day as anyone else, who would it be? Batman. I want a cape.
4. Favourite band/singer? Oooh, depends what kind of mood I'm in but it ranges from the Backstreet Boys to AC/DC!
5. Do you have any pets? My Cocker Spaniel Polly is my life<3
6. Favourite food/drink? I'm addicted to Diet Coke
7. Do you watch any reality tv? The closest I get to reality tv is watching YouTube
8. What's been your favourite movie of 2013? Or has It not came out yet? Hands down - Despicable Me 2! I bloody love minions!
9. If you could be an animal for a full day, which animal would you choose? I want to choose something amazing and exotic but to be honest, I'd probably be a cat, just because I love sleep a bit too much!
10. Do you have a lucky number? The numbers 1, 7 and 13 always tend to follow me.
11. Favourite thing about winter? Here's a random one but probably the robins in the garden, they follow you around and are just beautiful.

My questions for you guys!

When and how did you get into make-up?
Are you at school? What do you study?
Do you work?
What's your favorite way to wind down at the end of the day?
 Andriod or Apple?
What's your favorite beauty tip?
Lipgloss or lipstick (and whats you're favourite?)
What will be on your Christmas list this year?
 Costa or Starbucks?
What tends to be your favorite beauty brand?
What's the main aim of your blog?

And I tag:
Bhavi

MUA Lipstick Swatches

(L-R - 13, 3, 6, 7, 16, 15)

Apologies for the slow posting recently! The ol' college and work load is a wee bit overwhelming at the moment to say the least! Unfortunately that sometimes means blogging has to sit on the backburner at times =(

BUT! I recommend you get you butt to Superdrug or onto the MUA website because these fabulous lipsticks are just £1! That's right! No waiting for payday! (If your purse is really struggling, check the sofa..)

They're really pigmented, long-wearing and actually quite moisturizing. A complete bargain!

Plus - they ship internationally!

Swatch: Soap and Glorys "Glow All Out" Highlighter

Here is an offering from Soap and Glory, a champagne-pink powder highlighter or a "luminizing radiance face powder" as they call it!

The packaging is lovely, although the cardboard feeling packaging lets it down a lil', the mirror on the inside of the top-side saves the day. The 3D soap and glory logo embossed onto the product itself just make it that bit special.

The highlight itself is very light in texture and in colour but I just can't help but like it. I wouldn't say it a must-have (just yet!) but if you have £11 spare, head over to Boots!

Swatch: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed

I love this product, it's one of those blushes you reach for when you can't decide what to wear. It's a pink-nude but sides more on the darker/plum side of nude. I wouldn't say it wears for the 12 hours Tarte claims but I do get a good eight hours use before it fades.

The packaging is well made, sturdy, with a very decent mirror on the inside lid.

I would love to try out more of these blushes but Tarte unfortunately doesn't like Europe *sigh*

I managed to buy this new and boxed off eBay but be careful if you decide to do the same!

Revlon Lip Butter Swatches

(L-R - Candy Apple, Lollipop, Peach Parfait, Creme Brulee, Strawberry Shortcake and Pink Lemonade)

SO, a little late on the lip butter swatches but hey! there here!

Pink Lemonade is by far my favorite and a handbag staple, I probably have one in the car too!

You don't need me to tell you how popular and brilliant these lipsticks are. Pigmented, moisturizing and in an array of colors to choose from, you're bound to find your lip butter love.

Available at Boots and Superdrug for £7.99 but keep your eyes out for 3 for 2 offers that happen on a regular basis!
